Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Last week, a college student in Colorado shocked the community when he allegedly killed his roommate and another person in a dorm room. The suspect, Nicholas Jordan, reportedly made a chilling threat to his roommate a month prior to the incident.

Threat over taking out the trash

Court documents reveal that Jordan threatened to “kill” his roommate if he was asked to take out the trash again. The dispute was reported to campus police and housing officials, but there is no indication that university officials took action to remove Jordan from the room despite multiple reports of conflicts.

University response

Chris Valentine, a spokesperson for the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, stated that due to the ongoing investigation and federal student privacy laws, the university could not provide additional information about the individuals involved in the incident.

Charges and arrest

Jordan, 25, is facing two counts of first-degree murder, felony menacing, and committing a crime of violence in the killing of his roommate, Samuel Knopp, 24, and Celie Rain Montgomery, 26. The arrest affidavit also revealed that Jordan had filed a request to withdraw from the university just hours before the fatal shootings.

Incident details

According to police reports, Jordan’s dorm room was found empty when authorities arrived. Surveillance footage showed someone running out of the dorm building around the time of the incident. Jordan was later arrested in a residential area of Colorado Springs.

Additional weapons

In addition to a gun found in Jordan’s car, authorities discovered that he also had a fully loaded AK-47. Prosecutors argued that Jordan was a flight risk due to the presence of these weapons and the fact that he had all his belongings in his car at the time of his arrest.

Victims remembered

Samuel Knopp, the senior studying music, was described as a beloved member of the university’s Visual and Performing Arts department. University Chancellor Jennifer Sobanet paid tribute to Knopp, highlighting his talent as a guitarist and musician. Celie Rain Montgomery, who was not a student at the university, was also a victim of the tragic incident.

As the investigation continues, the community is left grappling with the shocking turn of events that unfolded in the quiet college dorm room.
