On Wednesday night, a devastating incident occurred in Huntington Beach, resulting in the tragic death of a 67-year-old man from Stockton. The victim, identified as Johnny Lee Davis, was struck by a gray 2021 Tesla Model Y while he was on foot near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Williams Drive.
Details of the Incident
The Huntington Beach police responded to reports of the accident at approximately 10 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, authorities found the victim in the roadway, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Tesla, a 33-year-old man from Huntington Beach, remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police have stated that impairment did not appear to be a factor in the incident.
Initial Findings
Early investigations suggest that the Tesla was travelling southbound on Beach Boulevard in the second lane, just north of Williams Avenue. The pedestrian, Mr. Davis, was walking west across Beach at Williams Drive when the collision occurred. It is believed that he was struck near the intersection while in the same traffic lane as the Tesla.
