Accident – Death – Obituary News :

Shocking Incident Unfolds in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — In a disturbing turn of events, a judge has sentenced Amanda Stamper, the stepmother of six severely abused children, to seven to 18 years in prison. The sentencing comes after Stamper failed to intervene to protect the children from the horrific abuse they endured.

The incident, which took place in June of 2023, shocked the community of Las Vegas. Las Vegas Metro police discovered the six children home alone, with two of them locked in a dog cage. The children, ranging in age from toddlers to pre-teens, showed visible signs of abuse and neglect.

Body Camera Footage Reveals Horrific Conditions

Body camera video captured the heartbreaking moment when officers rescued the children from their dire circumstances. The footage showed the children in distress, with one child locked in a dog cage for five days, severely malnourished and starving.

Travis Doss, known as “Trap Montana,” and Stamper’s husband, stands accused of subjecting the children to unspeakable abuse. Doss faces multiple charges, including child abuse, kidnapping, and sex trafficking.

Amanda Stamper’s Guilty Plea

Stamper pleaded guilty to three felony counts of child abuse, neglect, or endangerment in December. Despite her plea, the court indicted her on seven counts of felony child abuse and neglect. Stamper’s defence attorney argued for probation, citing the abuse she suffered at the hands of Doss.

Failure to Protect the Vulnerable

Prosecutors highlighted Stamper’s inaction in protecting the children, emphasizing that she had ample opportunities to seek help. Doss even sent Stamper a chilling message claiming he had killed one of the children, yet she only called 911 after discovering his infidelity.

Under Nevada law, individuals who work closely with children are obligated to report suspected abuse. With none of the children attending school, Stamper was their only hope for intervention.

Justice Served, But Scars Remain

As Stamper begins her prison sentence, the children she failed to protect will carry the emotional and physical scars of their ordeal for the rest of their lives. The court acknowledged that Stamper’s actions, or lack thereof, will have lasting repercussions on the children’s well-being.

Despite the tragic circumstances, the community can find solace in the fact that justice has been served. The legal system has held those responsible for the abuse of the innocent children accountable for their actions.
