Accident – Death – Obituary News :

The Search Continues in Texarkana

In the small town of Texarkana, Arkansas, a manhunt is still underway for Thaddeus Ray Carroll, who fled into the woods following a traffic stop at the end of January. Despite extensive efforts by law enforcement, Carroll has managed to evade capture, leaving authorities with no choice but to keep all options open in their search.

The Incident

The dramatic events unfolded on January 28 near County Road 1540 and U.S. Highway 67, close to Fulton, Arkansas. A routine traffic stop led to a chaotic scene when Carroll, along with a female passenger, Melanie H. Bormann, made a daring escape into the dense woods. Carroll, allegedly armed, even went as far as to point a firearm at a trooper during the pursuit.

A Desperate Search

Despite the efforts of Arkansas State Police and local law enforcement, Carroll has managed to evade capture for weeks. The densely wooded area, including parts of the Bois d’Arc Wildlife Management Area, has made the search particularly challenging. Authorities are also considering the impact of cold weather on Carroll’s ability to survive in the wilderness.

The Aftermath

While Bormann was apprehended without incident a few hours after the escape, Carroll remains at large, prompting a statewide manhunt. Bormann now faces a slew of charges, including possession of a controlled substance, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by certain persons. She remains in custody as the search for Carroll continues.
