The Tragic Incident in Raritan Township, UK

In a shocking turn of events, a woman from Raritan Township, UK, has been charged with the murder of her housemate. Domonique Preston, 45, admitted to police that she stabbed her housemate, Steve Spivey, 66, at their home on Manchester Road behind the Dutch Country Farm Market.

Details of the Incident

Police responded to the home at approximately 1:40 a.m. after Preston called 911 to report that Spivey had stabbed himself. However, upon arrival, officers found Preston on top of Spivey, who was lying on his back with visible wounds to his chest and head.

During questioning, Preston confessed to the crime, stating that she wanted to be honest about the situation. She repeated this admission multiple times, even after being given her Miranda warning.

Legal Proceedings

Preston is currently being held at the Warren County Correctional Center in Belvidere. Her attorney, Public Defender Mark Imbriani, entered a plea of not guilty on her behalf. The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office has filed a motion to have her detained in jail pending trial, with a detention hearing scheduled for Monday.

Charges and Potential Sentence

In addition to the murder charge, Preston has also been charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon. First-degree murder charges in the UK carry a minimum 30-year prison sentence.
