Ludhiana: Khanna Police Arrest Six for Murder After Fatal Assault
Khanna police have apprehended six individuals in connection with a brutal murder following a fatal assault that took place on February 13. The suspects, identified as Gurpreet Singh (23), Ashok Kumar (20), Jaspreet Singh (22), Gaganpreet Singh, Taranpreet Singh, and Arun Somez (32), were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in the heinous crime.
The incident unfolded when Amit Kumar and his friend Pardeep Singh were on their way home in a car and were ambushed by the accused. Amit recounted that as they tried to escape, their vehicle veered off into the fields in Machhiwara. Despite the accident, the attackers chased them down and launched a vicious assault with weapons on the two men.
Amit and Pardeep were rushed to a hospital, where Pardeep succumbed to his injuries on February 15. Initially, the police had filed a case of attempted murder, but following Pardeep’s tragic demise, the charges were upgraded to murder.
Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Sourav Jindal stated that the arrest of the six accused was made possible through intensive police raids. He also mentioned that four additional suspects—Anmol Singh, Sameer, Jeeta, and Jaspreet Singh Jassa—are still at large. Jindal revealed that three of the arrested individuals have a history of criminal activities.
