Accident – Death – Obituary News :

In a heartbreaking turn of events in Vile Parle East, a 45-year-old woman lost her life due to an air conditioner (AC) explosion caused by a suspected short circuit in her apartment. The victim, identified as Swarupa Shah, resided alone in her flat at Amit Parivar CHS on Dixit Road, where the unfortunate incident took place.

Discovery of the Unconscious Victim

The incident came to light when neighbours noticed black smoke emerging from Shah’s apartment door. Concerned about her well-being, they broke into the flat and found Shah unconscious in the bathroom. Immediate action was taken as the building security was alerted, and the police were informed. Despite being rushed to Cooper Hospital, Shah was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Police Investigation and Speculations

Authorities registered an accidental death report and commenced an investigation into the matter. Upon examination, burn marks were discovered on the victim’s body, with the exploded air conditioner identified in the bedroom. It is believed that Shah may have tried to mitigate her injuries after the AC explosion while she was asleep, leading her to seek refuge in the bathroom. The primary theory suggests that a short circuit within the house triggered the fire.
