Spokane, Washington: Three Teenagers Arrested in Car Chase and Fatal Shooting
In a disturbing incident that shook the University District of Spokane, Washington, three 18-year-olds have been apprehended and are currently being held in Spokane County jail on $500,000 bonds. The trio – Christopher Gimmaka, Kaden Willoughby, and Devin McEwen – are facing serious charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted robbery, and assault. McEwen, who was behind the wheel during the chaotic events, is also facing a charge for attempting to elude police.
The harrowing saga began when the teenagers allegedly stole a man’s tools from his car in the early hours of a Sunday morning. The victim discovered the theft through his ring camera footage, which captured the suspects prowling around his property again the following night. This prompted the victim to take action to protect himself and his family.
Upon finding his stolen items listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, the victim arranged to meet the sellers in a parking lot near Andrew Rypien Field. However, what was meant to be a simple exchange turned into a terrifying ordeal when the suspects, including an unnamed 16-year-old boy and a woman known as “Sally,” donned ski masks, indicating their sinister intentions.
High-Speed Chase and Shocking Turn of Events
The situation escalated rapidly as the suspects attempted to flee the scene, with the victim’s father pursuing them while providing crucial updates to law enforcement. Shots were fired during the chase, putting innocent bystanders at risk as the suspects careened through the streets of northwest Spokane. Despite the danger, the victim and his father remained steadfast in their efforts to prevent further harm.
As the chase neared Gonzaga University’s campus, the police were able to corner the suspects, leading to a dramatic high-speed pursuit. A skilled pit maneuver by a Spokane Police Department officer finally brought the chaotic ordeal to an end near Hamilton and Springfield. It was at this point that “Sally” allegedly took her own life, adding a tragic twist to an already harrowing sequence of events.
Throughout the ordeal, the suspects displayed reckless behavior, with Gimmaka admitting to law enforcement that he was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of his arrest.
