Charges Filed in Union Station Mass Shooting After Kansas City Chiefs Victory Rally

Two individuals have been charged in connection with the tragic mass shooting that took place at Union Station following the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl victory rally on Wednesday, Feb. 14. Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced the charges, revealing that the suspects are not the two juveniles previously charged in Jackson County Family Court.

Identification of Suspects

The two adults facing charges have been identified as Dominic M. Miller of Kansas City, Missouri, and Lyndell Mays of Raytown, Missouri. Both men are facing felony charges of second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, and two counts of unlawful use of weapons. If convicted, they could each face a life sentence in prison. Currently, both suspects are being held on separate $1 million bonds.

Tragic Outcome

The shooting resulted in the death of 43-year-old Elizabeth ‘Lisa’ Lopez-Galvan, a mother of two. In addition to the tragic loss of Lopez-Galvan, 22 other individuals were injured in the shooting, including the two suspects. According to Jackson County prosecutors, the incident stemmed from a verbal altercation and argument, with Mays allegedly being the first to pull out his weapon, which is believed to have caused Lopez-Galvan’s death.
