Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic incident unfolded in northwest Toronto over the weekend, where two seemingly random shootings took place, leaving a 39-year-old father of four from Ghana dead. The man, identified as Adu Boakye, was shot while waiting for a bus in the area of Jane Street and Driftwood Avenue. Another victim, a 16-year-old boy, was also shot less than 24 hours later in the same location.

According to Det. Phillip Campbell, both victims were “shot indiscriminately” by unknown suspects. The 16-year-old victim remains in critical condition with potentially life-altering injuries. The police investigation has revealed that there is no known relationship between the victims and the perpetrators.

In both cases, the victims were targeted while waiting at a bus stop in the area. Investigators believe that the shootings are connected, as a suspected stolen vehicle used by the suspect was found abandoned in Hamilton. Police are appealing to the public for any information regarding a black Acura RDX seen in the area before or after the shootings.

Supt. Andy Singh emphasized that both victims were completely innocent and urged the community to remain vigilant. Chief Myron Demkiw encouraged residents to report any suspicious activity to the police. A command post was set up in the North York neighbourhood following the incidents.

As of now, no arrests have been made, but the police have released surveillance images of a suspect described as a Black male between 18 and 25 years old with a thin build. The suspect was last seen wearing a black coat, white hoodie, black pants, black shoes, a black face covering, and possibly a white surgical mask.

Det. Campbell expressed confidence in identifying the suspect with the help of tips from the community. He reassured the public that bringing the perpetrator to justice is a top priority for the investigation.

The back-to-back shootings have raised concerns about gang activity in the area, but investigators have not found any evidence linking the victims to gang affiliation. The community is urged to come forward with any information that may assist in solving the case and bringing closure to the affected families..
