Tragic Accident in North County Claims Life of Fallbrook Resident

On a fateful morning in North County, tragedy struck as Thomas Carl Asper, an 86-year-old Fallbrook resident, lost his life in a devastating car accident. The incident occurred at an intersection on Old Highway 395 near the Interstate 15 off-ramp at around 7:45 a.m. on January 31.

Details of the Collision

Asper was driving south in his Toyota Venza when a Jaguar XF, driven by an 18-year-old woman, collided with his vehicle as it exited the freeway. The impact of the crash caused Asper’s car to overturn, resulting in him being ejected from the vehicle. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Asper tragically succumbed to his injuries.

Investigation Findings

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Hunter Gerber, drugs and alcohol were ruled out as factors in the accident. The Jaguar driver emerged from the collision unscathed, leaving the community reeling from the loss of a beloved member.
