A tragic incident unfolded over the weekend in Snellville, Georgia, resulting in the death of a 16-year-old boy. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has made an arrest in connection with the deadly shooting, shedding light on the shocking developments that took place on Saturday night.
Details of the Incident
The incident took place on the 1900 block of Scenic Highway in Snellville, where a large group was involved in a fight. As officers arrived at the scene, gunshots rang out, leading to the discovery of the victim who had been shot in the chest.
The victim, identified as Nasir Davis of Lithonia, was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The GBI was called in to investigate the shooting death at the request of the Snellville Police Department.
Arrest and Charges
Following a thorough investigation, the GBI arrested 17-year-old Keegan Gates of Decatur in connection with the shooting. It is alleged that Gates shot Davis during a fight that erupted at a party on Scenic Highway on Saturday night.
Gates has been charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person under 18. He is currently being held at the Gwinnett County Jail as the investigation continues.
