The body of Melody Hoffman was found at the pond located at 220th Trail and 38th Avenue in Amana. The Iowa State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy, revealing that she had died from strangulation and had multiple stab wounds. According to reports, Hoffman was picked up by Louisma in his vehicle late on Saturday night and was with him until her tragic demise. Her Apple Watch recorded a sudden increase in heart rate while she was at Morgan Creek Park in Linn County before the device either stopped or was deactivated.
A search of Louisma’s vehicle uncovered damning evidence, including Hoffman’s phone case, a blood-stained Apple Watch band, and items matching the clothing she was last seen wearing. Additionally, a bungee cord, a towing rope, gloves, and a bag containing clothing belonging to Hoffman were found in the trunk of the car.
