Stabbing Incident at Manassas Apprenticeship Center Leads to Police Shooting

In a tragic turn of events, a stabbing incident at an apprenticeship center in Manassas, Virginia, has left one person dead and another critically injured. The incident occurred on Feb. 13 at an apprenticeship training center for electrical and telecommunication workers in the 7000 block of Infantry Ridge Road.

Details of the Incident

The Prince William County Police responded to a report of two individuals being stabbed in a classroom at the apprenticeship center. The suspect, armed with a knife, was fatally shot by police officers after he allegedly moved towards them with the weapon. Initial investigations suggest that the suspect had pulled a knife from a backpack and attacked two victims in separate classrooms.

One of the victims, identified as Elijah Islam Safadi, 23, of Manassas, tragically succumbed to his injuries. The second victim, Michael Baca, an apprentice training at the center, remains hospitalized in critical condition. Thomas Myers, president of the IBEW Local 26 union for electrical workers, has appealed for help in alleviating Baca’s financial burden during his recovery. Myers emphasized the physical and emotional scars that Baca will carry from this traumatic incident.
