Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A suspect has been arrested on murder charges in connection with the tragic shootings of two individuals who were found dead in a dorm room at the University of Colorado campus in Colorado Springs. The suspect, identified as Nicholas Jordan, 25, was taken into custody by the Colorado Springs police department on two counts of first-degree murder. The victims have been named as Celie Rain Montgomery, 26, and Samuel Knopp, 24, a student at the university located approximately 70 miles south of Denver.

Arrest and Investigation

Following the issuance of an arrest warrant, the police’s motor vehicle theft unit located Jordan in a car, leading to his apprehension by the tactical enforcement unit. The police have stated that the incident is believed to be an isolated one involving individuals known to each other, rather than a random attack on the school campus. While the exact cause of death is yet to be determined by the coroner’s office, it has been confirmed that both victims suffered gunshot wounds.

Campus Lockdown and Response

The police were alerted to the incident early on Friday morning after reports of gunshots from the university’s dormitory, Creston House, where the bodies of Knopp and Montgomery were discovered. In response, a campus-wide lockdown was implemented for 90 minutes, with the university remaining closed for the remainder of the day and weekend. Monday’s classes were subsequently canceled, and the school offered walk-in counseling services to students and staff affected by the tragedy.
