Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A tragic incident occurred on Friday night at around 09:45 p.m. in the 9300 block of Atlantic Blvd in Jacksonville, Florida, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the motorcyclist was travelling westbound on Atlantic Blvd when a gray Toyota 4 door vehicle exited a shopping center and made a left turn onto westbound Atlantic Blvd from Beacon Point Rd.

The Toyota came to a stop mid-turn and was struck by the motorcyclist, causing the rider to be thrown from the motorcycle. The victim, a man in his mid-twenties, was rushed to a local hospital by Jacksonville Fire Rescue, where he was sadly pronounced deceased.

The driver of the Toyota remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. There is no evidence of impairment on the part of the driver. The 9300 block of Atlantic Blvd was temporarily closed in all directions while detectives conducted their investigation, but has since been reopened.

This incident marks the 21st traffic fatality in Duval County this year and the second involving a motorcyclist. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time.
