Accident – Death – Obituary News : Kansas City Shooting: False Claims Spread About Suspect Identification

Kansas City, Missouri – In the aftermath of the tragic shooting that occurred at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade on Wednesday, false information has been circulating on social media. One of the most widely shared false claims is that a 44-year-old migrant named Sahil Omar was identified as one of the shooters. However, this information has been debunked by the Kansas City Police Department.

According to the police, three juveniles were detained in connection with the shooting that took place outside historic Union Station. One of the juveniles was later released as part of the ongoing investigation. The name Sahil Omar, along with the same description, has been used in the past to make similar erroneous claims in connection with other incidents, such as a January explosion in Fort Worth, Texas, and a December.
