Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Two Medical Students in Salem

On a fateful Thursday evening, a heartbreaking incident unfolded near the Panamarathupatti junction in Salem district, leaving a community in mourning. Two promising medical students from a private college in Puducherry lost their lives in a tragic accident that shook the local residents to the core.

The victims, P Kameo, a 23-year-old resident of Marthandam in Kanyakumari district, and S Gowtham, a 21-year-old resident of Salem, were travelling with three of their friends towards Namakkal. The group had just visited their friend Abhinav at his residence in Panamarathupatti when the unforeseen tragedy struck.

According to the police report, Kameo, who was behind the wheel, lost control of the vehicle and collided with a parked lorry by the roadside. The impact of the crash was devastating, resulting in the untimely demise of Kameo and Gowtham. The three other passengers, Jagan, Sathiya Praveen, and Saran, sustained injuries and were promptly rushed to the Salem Government Hospital for urgent medical attention.
