Accident – Death – Obituary News :

El Dorado Man Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison for Robbery and Fleeing Charges

Last week, an El Dorado man, Aric Arnezz Nathan, was handed a total of 10 years behind bars in the Arkansas Department of Corrections after admitting to his involvement in several criminal cases. The incidents took place in and around El Dorado, a quaint town known for its historic charm and southern hospitality.

Multiple Charges and Plea Agreements

Nathan, aged 18, found himself in hot water after pleading guilty to charges that included simple robbery and fleeing from law enforcement. These offences were part of a series of criminal acts that Nathan was involved in, leading to his eventual arrest and sentencing.

Armed Robbery and Stolen Firearm

One of the cases against Nathan stemmed from a September 2023 incident where he was accused of aggravated robbery, theft of a firearm, and defacing a weapon. Court documents revealed that Nathan, along with another suspect, allegedly robbed a man who was trying to sell an AR-15 rifle on the Facebook marketplace in July 2023.

Arrest and Sentencing

In August 2023, Nathan was apprehended by the Smackover Police Department and found in possession of the stolen AR-15 rifle. The victim positively identified Nathan as the perpetrator, leading to his arrest and subsequent guilty plea to simple robbery in January. Judge Spencer Singleton handed down a five-year prison sentence for this offence.

Additional Charges and Probation Revocation

Aside from the robbery case, Nathan also faced charges for fleeing from law enforcement during his arrest in August. This led to an additional five-year prison sentence, bringing the total duration of his incarceration to 10 years. Prior to these incidents, Nathan had been on probation for a conspiracy to commit battery charge dating back to 2021.

Legal Proceedings and Plea Agreements

The guilty pleas made by Nathan were the result of negotiations between the 13th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and his attorney, Vicky Bussey Ingram. These agreements helped bring closure to the cases and ensured that Nathan faced the consequences of his actions.

Overall, the sentencing of Aric Arnezz Nathan serves as a reminder that crime does not pay, and those who choose to break the law will be held accountable for their actions. The residents of El Dorado can rest assured that justice has been served in this case, and the community can continue to thrive in peace and safety.
