According to Prashant Patil, the lawyer, the Juvenile Justice Act outlines procedures for assessing whether the accused should be considered a minor or an adult. This process can take up to 90 days to complete, involving psychological, social assessments, and a de-addiction test.

Remand Home Placement

Following the accident, the Juvenile Justice Board cancelled the bail of the accused and directed him to be placed in a remand home for 14 days. Pune Commissioner of Police, Amitesh Kumar, has filed a review application to treat the juvenile as an adult in the case. The accused’s father’s lack of cooperation in the investigation has prompted further questioning by the police.

Bar Staff Arrested
