According to Prashant Patil, the lawyer, the Juvenile Justice Act outlines procedures for assessing whether the accused should be considered a minor or an adult. This process can take up to 90 days to complete, involving psychological, social assessments, and a de-addiction test.
Remand Home Placement
Following the accident, the Juvenile Justice Board cancelled the bail of the accused and directed him to be placed in a remand home for 14 days. Pune Commissioner of Police, Amitesh Kumar, has filed a review application to treat the juvenile as an adult in the case.
