The victims have been identified as Romaisa Jannat, a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter of Abdullah Al Mamun Faisal of Chhnua union, and Abir, a 2-year-old son of Abu Hamid from ward No-4 under Banshkhali municipality.

On the other hand, Abir drowned in a pond in Neyazar Para at approximately 1:00 pm, as confirmed by his paternal uncle. Similar to Romaisa, he was immediately taken to the upazila health complex, where doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival.
