The news came late on Monday, following an intense search for the 26-year-old who had disappeared the previous Wednesday.

Investigators were able to gather crucial video footage from two separate businesses, showing Cai riding her e-bike towards West Lebanon on NH Route 10 around 6 p.m. on the day of her disappearance. A breakthrough came when a driver spotted what appeared to be Cai’s bike in the Boston Lot Conservation Area, narrowing down the search efforts to that specific location.
Discovery of the Body
The somber discovery was made when a fisherman reported seeing something along the Connecticut River in Windsor, Vermont. First responders were quick to locate Cai’s body and bring her to shore by 5:36 p.m. on Monday. The identification process was later confirmed by investigators, bringing a devastating end to the search for the missing graduate student.
