Bahannapalli Area in Garia Sees Recovery of Firearms and Arrest of Two Individuals

In a recent development in Kolkata, police recovered firearms from Bahannapalli area in Garia on Monday and arrested two individuals in connection with the case. One of the arrested individuals has been identified as Hiranmoy Naskar, also known as Rana, a third-year student at a south Kolkata college. The other accused, Bijoy Haldar, also known as Bhutam, was wanted in a murder case and had been arrested earlier.

The seized items included a one-shotter, two 7mm pistols, 30 live cartridges, 5 kg explosives, and 25 rolls of detonating cord, all of which were recovered from Hiranmoy’s residence. Bijoy Haldar, a resident of Rajpur-Sonarpur Municipality, was previously involved in a murder case in 2019, with the trial currently underway.
