The recent arrest of two key suspects in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case in Bengaluru has shed new light on the investigation led by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The incident, which took place on March 1, resulted in several injuries and raised concerns about security in the region.

Arrest of Key Suspects
The NIA has identified the arrested suspects as Abdul Matheen Taha and Mussavir Hussain Shazeb. Shazeb is believed to be the individual who planted the improvised explosive device (IED) at the cafe, while Taha is suspected to be the mastermind behind the planning, execution, and subsequent evasion from law enforcement.

The NIA’s relentless efforts led them to the hideout of Taha and Shazeb near Kolkata, where they were promptly arrested. The duo, originally from Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district of Karnataka, had been evading law enforcement since the blast incident. Additionally, Muzammil Shareef was arrested on March 26 for allegedly providing logistical support to the main accused persons.
Multi-State Operation
The magnitude of the NIA’s operation extended beyond West Bengal, with searches conducted at 18 locations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Uttar Pradesh. The agency declared a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to the arrest of each absconding suspect, underscoring the seriousness of the case.
Pursuit of Justice
In their pursuit of justice, the NIA has been meticulously interviewing acquaintances of both the absconding and arrested accused persons, including their college and school friends, to gather evidence and relevant information. Authorities urge sensitivity in handling the case to protect witnesses and prevent interference with the investigation.
