Arrest Made in Connection with Mason’s Mysterious Death

Discovery of the Body

The incident dates back to March 23, 2024, when the body of the deceased, A Chendreya (38), a mason from ODRP colony in Arjyapalli village, was discovered near a kewda bush on the Gopalpur port-IREL road. Initially assumed to be a hit-and-run accident, further investigation revealed no evidence of vehicle involvement at the scene. Subsequent autopsy results indicated head injuries consistent with deliberate violence, leading authorities to suspect foul play.

Personal Troubles and Altercations

As investigators delved into Chendreya’s personal life, they uncovered a troubled relationship with his family, exacerbated by his alcohol addiction and frequent clashes with his wife, Polamma. Following a night of heavy drinking on March 22, 2024, Chendreya attempted to retrieve his wife and children from her parents’ home in Bada Arjyapalli, leading to a violent confrontation. In a bid to protect Polamma, her brothers Lachhaya and Muslai engaged in a physical altercation with Chendreya, resulting in fatal injuries.

Concealment of the Body

After incapacitating Chendreya, the siblings, believing him to be deceased, transported his body on a motorcycle and concealed it beneath the kewda bush where it was later discovered. The swift arrest of Lachhaya and Muslai sheds light on the events leading up to the mason’s tragic demise, providing closure to his family and the community.
