Man Bound Over for Arraignment in Douglas County Circuit Court
A 23-year-old man from Superior, Cameron James Labonte, is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving off with three different vehicles in a span of three weeks. Labonte was bound over for arraignment in Douglas County Circuit Court on March 6. The charges he is facing include two counts of taking and driving a vehicle without consent, two counts of receiving stolen property, two counts of being in possession of a firearm after being convicted of a felony, two counts of obstructing an officer, driving or operating a vehicle without consent, burglary, concealing a stolen firearm, and possessing drug paraphernalia, all as a repeater.

High Cash Bond Set for Labonte
A cash bond of $20,000 was set for Labonte, who remained in custody at the Douglas County Jail on March 27. As part of the conditions of his bond, Labonte was ordered to have no contact with the victims, no use or possession of firearms, and not to operate a motor vehicle without a valid license.
Alleged Crimes and Arrest
Labonte was arrested on February 2 during an investigation into a burglary in Hermantown where a Cadillac, handheld credit card machine, and other items were stolen. Superior police officers identified Labonte from security footage of the burglary. When officers attempted to stop him coming out of a Superior residence, Labonte reportedly jumped over a fence and ran from officers. The Cadillac was later found parked in Superior, with an AR-15 rifle and loaded magazine discovered during a search of the vehicle.
Interview with Detectives
During an interview with detectives Taavi Mattson and Griffith Coffman in jail, Labonte reportedly admitted to stealing a Ford Fiesta and a van on separate occasions. He is also alleged to have stolen money from a bar in December. Security footage of the incidents showed a suspect with a distinctive tattoo above one eye, similar to one Labonte has.
Potential Consequences
Labonte faces up to 75 years of imprisonment if convicted of all the charges against him. His next court appearance was scheduled for Friday, April 5.
