The Commonwealth Attorney, Rob Sanders, stated that a total of 12 shots were fired, with Neace being hit by approximately nine bullets. Sanders explained, “Both officers were justified in the use of deadly force, considering the imminent danger posed by Mr. Neace, armed with a knife. The officers had to act swiftly to protect themselves from potential serious physical harm.”
