Jaipur: In a heartbreaking incident in Aryan village, Kesrisinghpur area of Sriganganagar district in Jaipur, a couple lost their lives due to suffocation caused by a fireplace. The victims, identified as Paramjit Singh (50) and Gurmeet Kaur (48), were daily wage laborers. They had lit an ‘angeethi’ or fireplace in their room during the night to keep warm.
The tragedy unfolded when their son, Amarveer Singh, went to deliver tea to them the next morning. Despite repeated knocking, there was no response from inside the room. Concerned, the family had to break open the door, only to discover the lifeless bodies of Paramjit and Gurmeet.
Authorities conducted a postmortem examination, confirming the cause of death as suffocation. Following the procedure, the bodies were handed over to the relatives for the last rites.
The couple leaves behind two sons and three daughters. The incident occurred in their four-room house, where all family members were present at the time.
