Former Ballet Dancer Impaled by Golf Club While Working as Grocery Store Clerk

Minneapolis, MN – In a tragic incident, a former ballet dancer working as a grocery store clerk in Minneapolis was killed after being impaled by a golf club on Friday. The victim has been identified as 66-year-old Robert Skafte, according to a report from the Star Tribune. Skafte was found by first responders with a golf club pierced through his torso.

Minneapolis police have arrested a 44-year-old suspect following a six-hour standoff at a nearby apartment. The police department has not released the suspect’s name. Skafte was working as a cashier at the time of the incident, as reported by the Star Tribune.

The motive behind the crime remains unknown, and the police are actively investigating the events leading up to the murder. Skafte, who trained in ballet at the Westside School of Ballet in Santa Monica, California, had an illustrious career. He performed with the Kansas City Ballet from 1984 to 1994 before relocating to Minneapolis, where he danced with the Ballet of the Dolls.

Skafte’s friend, Gladys Torres, expressed her grief, stating, “We are broken. Our hearts are broken.” A fellow ballet dancer and friend, Valerie Torres, posted a tribute to Skafte on Facebook, describing him as “one of the sweetest souls to ever exist.” She further added, “The entire Ballet of the Dolls family is just devastated by what has so cruelly happened to our dear Robert. I am still in complete shock, and it all feels like the most horrible nightmare ever.”

The shocking incident has left the community in mourning, with many expressing their condolences and sharing memories of Skafte’s talent and kindness. Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the crime to come forward and assist in the investigation.
