The accident occurred early Sunday morning near Pakariya Jhulan village, under the Mulmula police station. The couple, identified as Shubham Soni and his bride, were returning to Shivrinarayan town after their wedding ceremony. Also accompanying them were three relatives, who tragically met their untimely demise as well.

Shubham Soni, a resident of Baloda village in Janjgir-Champa, had tied the knot with his bride the previous night. Sadly, their joyous occasion was cut short when their car collided head-on with a truck traveling in the opposite direction. The impact resulted in the immediate death of four occupants, including the groom’s father, Omprakash Soni, who was driving the vehicle. Shubham Soni, although critically injured, was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

The police have initiated an investigation into the accident and are currently searching for the truck driver, who fled the scene. The bodies of the victims have been sent for postmortem examination, and the truck has been impounded by the authorities.
