New Delhi: A 30-year-old woman’s body was discovered in a flat in the Khirki Extension area of south Delhi, as reported by the police on Saturday.

A senior police officer stated that the Malvia Nagar police station received a PCR call around 7.30 pm on Friday regarding a foul smell emanating from the woman’s apartment. In response, a member of staff was promptly dispatched to the location. With the presence of the owner and neighbors, they managed to unlock the apartment which had been locked from the inside.

The deceased woman has been identified as Saniya Rai, and according to officials, her body was found decomposed with no apparent external injuries. Upon discovery, the crime team conducted an inspection of the premises, and the body was subsequently sent for postmortem examination.

Police authorities have initiated proceedings under section 174 of the CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure) and are currently conducting further investigations into the matter.
