Employee Suffers Severe Injuries During Violent Retail Theft Confrontation in South Los Angeles

Two individuals, Jahana Boyce and Andrew Ramirez, have been arrested in South Los Angeles following a violent confrontation during a retail theft. The incident occurred on August 31 at a shop on Avalon Boulevard. Boyce and Ramirez entered the store and began grabbing high-priced items before attempting to leave. An employee tried to stop them, but Boyce allegedly punched the worker in the face, causing severe injuries. The suspects managed to escape with the stolen merchandise.

The Los Angeles Police Department’s Organized Retail Crime Task Force later identified Boyce and Ramirez as the culprits behind at least four other retail thefts in the area. The duo had already been arrested on August 16 for a similar theft in East L.A. They were charged with multiple counts of robbery, grand theft, and conspiracy.

Ramirez was arrested again on October 11 during a traffic stop, where a firearm was found in his car. He was charged with possessing a concealed firearm in a vehicle and is currently being held on a $190,000 bail. Boyce was also arrested on October 13 during a traffic stop, where two firearms were discovered in his vehicle. He was charged with possessing a loaded firearm and is being held on a $240,000 bail.

Ramirez pleaded guilty to one count of robbery on December 5 and was sentenced to five years in prison. Boyce also pleaded guilty to one count of robbery with a great bodily injury enhancement and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
