Fayetteville Man Charged with Murder After Investigation

A man from Fayetteville, North Carolina, has been arrested and charged with murder following an investigation that began in November. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest on Tuesday after determining that the victim, Christopher Torok, died as a result of blunt force trauma.

The investigation started on November 11 when deputies were called to the 6000 block of River Road for a death investigation. At that time, the cause of death could not be established. However, an autopsy later revealed that Torok had died from blunt force trauma, leading to a criminal investigation.

Kareem Jamal Butler, a 50-year-old resident of Fayetteville, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder. He is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
