Wife Arrested for Arranging Husband’s Murder: Razma Mohammed-Ibrahim and Samim Azizi in Custody

By | November 22, 2023

Hayward police have arrested Razma Mohammed-Ibrahim and her lover, Samim Azizi, for their alleged involvement in the murder of Mohammed-Ibrahim’s husband, Parwiz Assar. The investigation began when Mohammed-Ibrahim sought help from her neighbors after finding her husband dead from stab wounds. However, evidence gathered by the police over six weeks suggests that the marital relationship was strained, and Mohammed-Ibrahim was involved in an affair.

The evidence against the suspects includes internet searches, text messages, phone records, surveillance footage, and a disturbing Instagram post by Mohammed-Ibrahim on the day of the murder. The post featured the song “Single Soon” by Selena Gomez. Text messages exchanged between the two suspects the day before the killing revealed Azizi’s assurance to Mohammed-Ibrahim that the chosen knife was “strong,” according to court filings.

On the night of the homicide, Azizi sent Mohammed-Ibrahim a picture of himself hiding in a bush near their home. He later emerged from the bush and attacked Assar as he approached the front door, leaving him to be discovered by Mohammed-Ibrahim. Surveillance footage from the home’s Ring camera captured the incident, showing a masked assailant armed with a knife.

When Mohammed-Ibrahim reported the murder to the police, she denied any marital problems or arguments related to her affair. However, police records contradicted her statements. Two weeks prior, officers had responded to a domestic disturbance at their home, triggered by Assar’s suspicion of an unknown male entering their house. Mohammed-Ibrahim claimed that Assar had returned home with a gun after discovering the affair.

Earlier in April, Assar accused Mohammed-Ibrahim of kidnapping their children during a supposed vacation to Canada, where their visas expired. Friends and family reportedly told the police that this incident marked Assar’s realization that their marriage was effectively over.

In the early hours following the murder, a close friend of Assar informed the police that Assar suspected his wife might be planning to harm him. The friend even revealed that Assar had asked him to stay at their home occasionally for safety.

Azizi, a resident of Washington, was identified as a suspect based on phone records placing him near the crime scene. Evidence also indicated a rendezvous between Azizi and Mohammed-Ibrahim at a Motel 6 before the homicide.

Both suspects are currently in custody, despite Mohammed-Ibrahim allegedly warning Azizi about an arrest warrant after it was reported by KTVU. Mohammed-Ibrahim appeared in court on Monday without entering a plea and is being held without bail. Her next court appearance is scheduled for December.
