RIDDLE, Ore. – Local authorities in Douglas County are appealing to the public for assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday night in Riddle. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were dispatched to the scene of the incident on Main Street and east Third Avenue shortly after 11:30 p.m. on November 20th. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of Devonte Lovell Clark, a 20-year-old Grants Pass resident, and another individual named Killian Mavity, aged 29 and also from Grants Pass, who had been shot in the arm. Mavity was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Authorities have identified Gauge Douglas James Main, a 19-year-old Riddle resident, as the primary suspect in the shooting and are seeking information on his whereabouts. Main is believed to have fled the scene in a stolen 2017 silver Honda Civic, bearing Oregon license plate 276 PAT. Law enforcement officials have urged caution, stating that Main is to be considered armed and dangerous. They have advised individuals who encounter him or the stolen vehicle to immediately contact emergency services by dialing 911, making reference to case number 23-4651.
