Woman in Custody in Connection with Beating Death Investigation

The Grandview Heights Division of Police, in collaboration with Columbus police, have apprehended a woman who they believe is one of the two individuals of interest in the ongoing investigation into the beating death of 57-year-old Stephen Albright.

According to reports, the Grandview Heights police were conducting surveillance on a residence in the 100 block of Columbian Avenue, which is near Glenwood Park in Columbus’ Hilltop area, when they requested assistance from the Columbus police and its SWAT unit.

Law enforcement authorities subsequently took a woman into custody at the aforementioned residence for questioning. However, the woman has not yet been identified by the Grandview Heights police.

While authorities hoped to find the second person of interest, a man, inside the house, he remains at large as of Tuesday night.

Stephen Albright, a husband and father of two teenage daughters, was discovered unconscious with severe head and face injuries on November 13 on West 5th Avenue near the railroad tracks east of Dublin Road in Grandview Heights. Despite being transported to Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center in critical condition, Albright succumbed to his injuries on November 17.

Initially, Grandview Heights police released images of a man and woman riding bicycles in the vicinity where Albright was believed to have been attacked. These images were captured from videos recorded between 7:40 and 7:48 p.m. on the day of the incident.

Subsequently, additional images of the two persons of interest, seemingly taken from surveillance footage inside and outside a convenience store, were also made public by the police.

The investigation into Albright’s tragic death is ongoing, and law enforcement officials are working diligently to apprehend the remaining person of interest and bring justice to the victim and his family.
