FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A suspect has been apprehended in connection to two separate shootings in Merced, California. The incidents involved the fatal shooting of a teenager at a Halloween party and the shooting of a convenience store clerk.

The clerk was shot in the chest during an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven on Gerard Avenue and Carmel Road near Highway 99. The incident occurred around 3 am last Tuesday. The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Darrion Wayne Murphy, allegedly grabbed money from the cash register before shooting the clerk. Fortunately, the clerk was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Following the incident, the Merced Police Department launched an investigation and identified Murphy as the shooter. A warrant for his arrest was issued the next day.
