A devastating head-on collision on the Sterling Highway in Alaska resulted in the death of a Wisconsin woman and left four others with serious injuries, according to a statement by Alaska State Troopers.

Tragically, 59-year-old Wanda Yvonne Cooke, a passenger in the Ford Explorer, lost her life at the scene. Both drivers involved in the crash sustained serious injuries, while one passenger in the Toyota and one of the four passengers in the Ford also suffered severe injuries, according to troopers spokesman Austin McDaniel.
